World Menopause Day – 15t October 2017

On 15th October 17 in Bhagalpur IMA (Indian Medical Association) had organised an event on the occasion of Menopause Day. Sewa actively participated in this event and our many members received free check-up of bones. On this eve, doctors through various addresses to the audience focussed on hygienic menstruation practices and Menopause, thereafter. They emphasized on te need for women and young girls to understand their body and be receptive to physical and psychological changes during the menstruation and menopause.

Launch of Happy Periods Application

On 19th August 2017, Happy periods application was launched by MPN Alliance. It was launched at Patna by Health minister Mr. Mangal Pandey. It took us three years of to reach this stage. Now everyone can access the information through this application. Our guest congratulated the team and announced that it is really a useful application considering the younger generation is very familiar with smart phone applications. Thus, through this initiative we can make aware maximum people and expect behaviour changes on a large scale.

Happy Periods App

World Menstrual Hygiene day on 28th May 2017

This event was organized by Alliance in both the district of Bhagalpur and Munger.

In Bhagalpur, we organized a big event where more than 600 women, adolescent and male members were present. Among chief guests were present, renowned gynaecologists Dr. Pratibha Singh and Dr. Leena Nair from IMA (Indian Medical Association), Father Wargis (Principal), Health manager and MOIC (Medical Officer), Father Joseph from Education Department, and many teachers. On this eve, the journey of three years was presented and participants shared their experiences and views.

In Munger, chief guests included renowned gynecologists and they shared the technical aspect of menstruation. Participants shared their opinion and listed a point for advocacy with line departments. Around 200 participants were present at the event. Based of partners journey, focused discussions took place on expanding the program at each and every level.

At both places, expansion of MHM program was presented as need is there for many rural areas. Our alliance was praised for their efforts and was urged to continue awareness activities in villages.
